Peiwen Su is a distinguished violinist and music educator with a performance career spanning over 20 years. She has graced stages across the globe, including renowned venues in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Austria, and China.In 2020, Peiwen emerged as the champion of the Oberlin Conservatory Concerto competition. Based in Los Angeles, Peiwen is dedicated to the Hollywood music scene, particularly as a recording violinist for film scores. Her versatility and excellence have led her to various musical events, and in 2022, she collaborated with the 65th Grammy Award winner, Zedd, to record a promotional video in Burbank, Hollywood. That same year, Peiwen served as the lead violinist for a musical theater production, THE 24 HOURS PLAYS at Hollywood's Bourbon Room, sharing the stage with Shannon Purser from Netflix's "Stranger Things'' and Emily Kinney of AMC's drama television series.In 2023, Peiwen partnered with the esteemed composer Conrad Pope, known for his contributions to the Harry Potter series: Moonrise Kingdom, and Jurassic Park, for a collaboration at Warner Bros, where she was featured as the principal violinist. Throughout her illustrious career, Peiwen has worked with notable musicians like Joanne Tseng, the Second Violin Principal of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO), and Ellie Welker, the violist for JJ Lin's world tour, with whom she performed in Los Angeles.

 

Educationally, Peiwen pursued her undergraduate studies at Oberlin Conservatory under the mentorship of Marilyn McDonald. She later earned her Master's degree from the University of Southern California, studying with Lina Bahn. Furthermore, her chamber music instruction was under the esteemed guidance of Glenn Dicterow, the Concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.Currently, Peiwen holds the dual position of violin instructor and orchestra director at the Torrance Arts Academy in Los Angeles. In her commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians, she serves as a judge for the Annual Young Musician Competition and is the president of the California Youth Music Competition association. Peiwen is dedicated to promoting children's music competitions in California, ensuring young musicians have ample opportunities to shine on stage.
