Registration Fees

  • Early Bird (before June 1, 11:59 PM): $90

  • Regular (June 2 – June 25, 11:59 PM): $100

Registration & Payment

  • Payment Method: Zelle (please follow the instructions on the registration form) or Credit Card (a $5 processing fee will apply)

  • Registration is complete only after payment confirmation

  • If pay with Zelle, a screenshot of your Zelle payment must be uploaded with the registration form

  • Registration may close early if we reach capacity

Preliminary Round

  • Submission: YouTube link

  • There is no time limit for the first round, and memorization is optional. However, participants selected for the second round must perform from memory.

  • For violin participants, a piano accompanist is optional in both rounds.

Final Round

  • Dates: August 1–2

  • Please check the 2026 schedule to find your assigned competition day according to your age group and division. Exact check-in times will be released with the final round results.

  • Venue: Claremont United Church of Christ
    233 W. Harrison Ave., Claremont, CA 91711

  • Repertoire: Participants may perform the same repertoire as in the preliminary round or choose new pieces. One or more movements are allowed.

  • All performances in the Final Round must be memorized.*.

  • For violin participants, a piano accompanist is optional in both rounds.

Performance Time Limits

Time limits will be strictly enforced as outlined below. A bell will ring when the maximum time is reached.

Eligibility Age: Participant age is determined as of July 1, 2026.

Violin

  • Group A (ages 5–6): Maximum 3 minutes

  • Group B (ages 7–8): Maximum 3 minutes

  • Group C (ages 9–10): Maximum 3 minutes

  • Group D (ages 11–12): Maximum 3 minutes

  • Group E (ages 13–15): Maximum 3 minutes

Piano

  • Group A (ages 6 and under): Maximum 3 minutes

  • Group B (ages 7–8): Maximum 3 minutes

  • Group C (ages 9–10): Maximum 4 minutes

  • Group D (ages 11–12): Maximum 5 minutes

  • Group E (ages 13–14): Maximum 5 minutes

Video Requirements

  • One continuous take

  • No editing

  • Clear audio and video

  • Link must be accessible

  • Video Title Format: First Name, Last Name, Group, and Repertoire

Refund Policy

  • To ensure fairness for all participants, refunds will not be issued in cases where incorrect age information is provided at the time of registration or if a participant exceeds the eligible age range; such entries will be disqualified.

  • Refunds will not be granted for personal reasons that prevent a participant from attending on the day of the event. Contestants who do not attend (no-shows) will not receive a refund.​​

  • First Prize: Certificate, trophy

  • Second Prize: Certificate, trophy

  • Third Prize: Certificate, trophy

  • Fourth Prize: Certificate, trophy

  • Fifth Prize: Certificate, trophy

All participants will receive written feedback from the jury panel. 

CYMC reserves the right to make final decisions regarding any modifications, changes, interpretations, or cancellation of the event. Any updates will be announced on this website without prior notice. All competition results are final.
